Pay What You Can (or PWYC) is a ticket type that allows customers to select the amount they would like to pay for that specific ticket.
Setting Up Pay What You Can Option
1. Log in and navigate to your department.
2. On the left side menu, go to Box Office Manager → TICKET PLANS.
3. Click ADD NEW TICKET PLAN.
4. Enter the Ticket Plan Name.
We recommend making it related to the event, or something that describes what’s been included in the ticket plan to make it easier to reference when setting up your event.
5. Click ADD NEW TICKET TYPE.
6. Enter the TICKET NAME, ABBREVIATION, and choose if you want this available to everyone or in the Point of Sale tool only.
7. Check off PAY WHAT YOU CAN PRICING.
8. Choose if you wish to ask the customer to cover processing fees.
9. Set your minimum PWYC ticket price (or set to 0 to allow free tickets). Minimum price is required.
The system will not allow someone to enter less than the minimum. ie. if the minimum is $0, they can pay nothing, but if minimum price is $2.00, anything entered under $2 will error and tell customer it must be above $2.
10. Set your suggested price (optional).
On the customer side, the box will auto-populate with your suggested price, and customers can change it.
11. Click ADD TICKET.
12. Add any additional ticket types you would like by clicking ADD NEW TICKET TYPE and filling out the form again.
13. Click SUMBIT TICKET PLAN when complete.
