How do I link a guest order to a customer account?
When customers make purchases from the customer site, they can choose to either purchase via a customer log in account or via guest checkout, if you have both options available.
If a customer has purchased via guest checkout but has an existing log in account, you can choose to link them together, that way all of the customers past orders are in one location in the admin portal.
First, navigate into your department. Then, under CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT, go to CUSTOMER SEARCH TOOL.
Search the customer information, and scroll down to the GUEST ACCOUNTS section. Click VIEW ORDER.
In the order, click LINK TO CUSTOMER ACCOUNT.
This will open a search box, where you can find the customer you are looking for. Enter their details again, then click SEARCH. When you see the customer account you would like to use, click LINK ORDER NOW, then click YES.
And you're done! The guest order will now be found within that customer login account.
