Step 1: Choose Your Streaming Platform
If you want to livestream your upcoming event, be sure to select a reputable streaming platform. While there are a large number of platforms to stream through, we recommend the following for quality and ease of use, though you are not limited to these options:
- Streamguys
- StreamYard
- Boxcast
- Dacast
- Castr
Step 2: Confirm Process for Customer Access to Your Livestream
If you will be livestreaming your upcoming event, you want to make sure you have a way to distribute access to all of your ticket holders. Depending on your chosen streaming platform, this process may vary. In most scenarios, your streaming platform will either provide you with an access link to distribute for your livestream, or the option to upload a list of customer emails to directly email access to.
Step 3: Make a Plan
Consider the best time to give your ticket holders access. If you need to email a link out to your customers, you might consider leaving a note on your show details that links will be sent 1 hour prior to the event start time. Alternatively, if you are sending directly through your streaming platform, make sure you confirm when you will be able to access this function to get your customers access to your livestream. Always communicate the timeline and clear instructions or expectations to your customers to avoid any confusion.
