Coupon codes are a great way to offer discounts to your customers!
In BookTix, we refer to them as DISCOUNT CODES.
To begin, log in to your administrator portal, and access your department by clicking GO TO DEPARTMENT and navigating into the department for which you are selling.
1. Go to BOX OFFICE > DISCOUNTS & PRESALES > DISCOUNTS.
2. Click ADD NEW DISCOUNT.
3A. You’ll begin with deciding the type of discount, and how it works (is it a buy one get one free? Is it a 50% discount?)
3B. Then, decide on what the discount should be available for - events, items, packages, or specific ticket types.
Note: Applying to specific ticket types is how you will restrict that the customer must be purchasing a specific type of ticket to receive the discount. For example, perhaps you want to offer $5.00 off the Adult ticket type. In here, you would want to select that this is eligible on the Adult ticket, and leave off the Student ticket option.
3C. Last, decide the distribution method for the discount - either by a multi use code (one generic code that can be used more than once) or single use codes (unique, individual codes that are only usable once). For example, a multi use code might be “5OffCabaret”, while a one time use code would be something like “xy53fs24qw” that cannot be used again after it is used by one customer.
4. Click SUBMIT DISCOUNT to save what you have created. Always be sure to test out your codes before giving them out to customers!
